ACCEPTABLE USE
Acceptable Use & Scan Authorization
Submit only URLs you are authorized to analyze
By starting a scan or competitive audit, you confirm that the submitted URL is a public-web resource and that you own it, administer it, have permission to analyze it, or otherwise have a legitimate basis to request a bounded public-web audit.
Do not use DiscoverGraph to
- attempt to bypass authentication, verification, paywalls, access controls or security protections;
- scan private networks, localhost, internal services or non-public resources;
- perform exploitation, credential attacks, vulnerability exploitation or destructive testing;
- evade rate limits, create abusive automated load or repeatedly submit failing targets to consume shared resources;
- submit URLs primarily to collect sensitive personal data, secrets or credentials;
- use reports to misrepresent measured facts, rankings, certifications or endorsements;
- violate applicable law or third-party rights.
Recurring calibration requires stronger authorization
Enrolling a registered product in the Calibration Program is different from requesting a one-time scan. You must own/administer that site or have permission to authorize recurring bounded calibration scans. Do not enroll a competitor or other third-party site merely because it is publicly reachable. Anonymous scans and one-time competitive audits never create recurring calibration permission.
Respectful crawling
DiscoverGraph uses bounded request budgets, timeouts and host concurrency limits. It does not intentionally bypass verification/interstitial layers. Machine Web Census crawling has a separately declared crawler identity and robots behavior on the crawler page.
Enforcement
We may refuse, rate-limit, suspend or terminate access when activity threatens the service, other websites, shared-hosting resources or third-party rights.
